What to Name my Blog?

I’ve been thinking about starting my own blog for awhile now, debating whether I had anything to say that might interest anyone else.

Obviously, I decided that I did as I started this blog today. Or maybe, I just wanted to say some things, whether anyone reads it or not.

Then there’s always the question of what to name the blog. I decided on this name because it reminds me of my Dad. Not when he was at his best – but this was one of the most recent memories of him.

Dad’s short-term memory went away in his later years. But he still felt that he was supposed to engage his “company” in conversation and entertain up until the end of his life, so we heard the same stories and comments every time we saw him.

Eventually, he would start talking and not remembering a lot to say, he would end with “and this, that and the other.” So, I choose to be reminded of him every time I come to this blog.

  1. Everywhere we look in the Holy Scriptures we see the Son of God sitting at the right hand of the Father. But as I read in the Book of Acts, I see a a good man of God preaching full of the Holy Spirit. He had much to say and did die for his words at the hands of these lawful men. As his thoughts were shattered from the stones that poured down from these men he looked up.

Act 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Yes Jesus was now standing! To welcome him home. Standing to encourage him on. I know that as your dad looked up he also saw Jesus standing.

Jesus said all He had to say; so I guess there is nothing for me to add except to look for your dad at the feet of Jesus. May your reunion be grand; and if you get there before I do, tell him I said; “this, that and the other”.

May the Holy Spirit of God enrich your life deeply…

  2. Beautiful reason to NAME it THIS, THAT and the OTHER…what a wonderful tribute & memory of your dad. My dad was a story teller too right until his end but I could never title any blog with much of his expressions! May coming here always bless you with good thoughts and lift up His Name & honor your dad.
