On a beautiful 70 degree day like today, it’s no fun for us to be stuck INSIDE. But the only time Cassie gets to leave the house is on a trip to the vet, so she’s happy on the inside.
Probably the most discussed subject of our area the past few months – the
ICE STORM.
My grandfather told my Dad that our family was Dutch and Irish. My great-grandma Sybil was the Irish link in our family. I’m still searching for the family history of her family.
In honor of my Irish ancestors – HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!
Bob Greene’s article makes a great point that the big executives who are
receiving large bonuses [and the rest of us] should be ashamed — read on:

(CNN) — As the country frets about extricating itself from the financial mess, there is one group of Americans to whom the rest of us owe the most sincere words of apology.
That group consists of the oldest of our fellow citizens — the men and women who went through the Great Depression when they were young, who fought and endured World War II when they were just a little older, and who had hoped for a sense of peace and tranquility in their final years on this earth.
I came to Jesus
I took my Stand
But what I’d surrendered
was back in my hands
Defeated by failures
haunted by fears
I cried out in anguish
“My God, are you here?”
Chorus
He said child you’re forgiven
forgiven and free
he said it, I heard it
Sweet victory
The future can never
intimidate me
since I’ve been forgive
forgiven and free
I’m resting and growing
in His strong embrace
I’ve traded performance
for amazing grace
My soul is at rest
oh, but I still must rejoice
When I think of the day
that I heard His voice
What a relief,
Because I can’t earn my way
When I come up empty
My father pays
I’m learning to live,
And I’m learning to die
And one of these days
I’ll be learning to fly
